As most comic book fans know, Ryan Reynolds (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) has been cast as Hal Jordan in the upcoming new Green Lantern film being directed by Martin Campbell (Casino Royale) and so far there has been no other casting news.
However, Aint It Cool News is now reporting that Jackie Earle Haley is being considered for Sinestro, the arch-nemisis of The Green Lantern. I find it to be a pretty good casting choice but I am kind of sick of seeing Jackie Earle Haley always playing the villain... I wish he would have more versatality in his career these days.
They also report that Superman may make a cameo appearance in the film. The only way I would even remotely care about that is if they had Brandon Routh playing it.
